18th Century Oak Longcase Clock

A well proportioned, Sottish longcase clock, having a break-arch top hood with a swan neck peidiment and reeded side columns. The trunk long door has a shaped top and a dental moulding. The engraved brass dial has a silvered chapter ring, dolphin spandrels and a circular name palte within the arch signed by the maker, William Richardson, of Alloa. He is listed as a maker between 1769-1790. The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell.
