Small Late 18th Century Oak Longcase Clock

A small,very original, well proportioned solid oak longcase clock dating to the late 18th Century. It has a break arch top hood with side pillars, an arch top long door and shaped. bracket feet. It has a well engraved and silvered brass dial, indicating seconds and the date, which is signed by the maker, Dennett, of Newport, Isle of Wight. It has an 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell. Richard Dennett is listed as a maker in Newport n 1793-1797
