Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock
REF: 232631
A well proportioned traditional Scottish mahogany longcase clock with round dial. The case has an arched top hood, a brass bezel and pierced sides. The trunk has a long door, with a crossbanded base , standing on bracket feet. The painted enamel dial has subsidiary seconds and date dials brass thistle hands and is signed by the maker W. Aitken of Haddington (near Edinburgh). It has a very heavily engineered 8 day movement that sounds the hours on a bell.
