Rocking Ship Longcase Clock

A solid oak country longcase clock dating the the early 19th century. It has a dome top with a removable gilt wood finial, hood side pillars and glazed sides, with a long arched door and a plinth base. The painted enamel dial has a rocking ship automaton that moves in time with the pendulum. The dial is signed by the maker Robert Bolt of Weymouth. It has an 8 day movement, that sounds the hours on a bell. The removable finial adds 15cm to the height (219cm). would like a video clip of the clock working showing the rocking shop please email us.
