A high quality regulator wall clock probably from a commercial premises. It has a solid oak case, with a drumhead hood an carved shoulders. The long glazed door trunk has canted corners and a convex curved base. The 12 inch enamel door is signed by the makers Swinden and Sons of Birmingham, who were also clock dial makers. The heavily engineered movement has a long wood pendulum with an invar bob and a brass weight and runs for 14 days with a single wind. The movement has a dead beat escapement and maintaining power to prevent time loss when winding.
