Early 19th Century Convex Dial Clock

REF: 244539

Sold

A good early English mahogany dial clock of traditional pegged case form. It has a thin outer turned wooden rim and a very heavy cast bass stepped shaped bezel. The convex dial is signed by the maker, W. Kirk of Stroud. The 8 day fusee movement has shaped plates an anchor escapement and a large brass bob pendulum with a shaped rod. A William Kirk is listed as working in 1856, although this may well be the next generation.
