French Terrestrial Globe

A 12 inch diameter terrestrial globe dating to the late 19th Century. It has 12 printed and had coloured gores, highlighting the European Empires and ocean currents. Standing on a turned ebonised beech base Made by G. Thomas, Rue des Champs, Paris. The globe shows the Suez canal (post 1869), but the capital of Australia is still Melbourne, Canberra not shown (pre 1909).
