Large French Gilt Ormolu Carriage Clock In Case

A large Rococo style carriage clock dating the late 19th Century. The imposing gilt case is embossed with acanthus leave decoration and has scroll bracket feet. It has an oval top bevel edge glass window with an hour repeat button, an enamel dial with a subsidiary alarm dial. The 8 day movement has a lever platform and sounds the hours and halves on a gong and is numbered 298. The clock has its original Moroccan leather travelling case.
