Substantial Irish Mahogany Bracket Clock

A substantial and very imposing and also, very original early 19th Century Irish bracket clock. It has an arch pad top case, with brass fish scale fret grills, heavy brass carrying handles, and ball feet. The curl figure mahogany case is inlaid with raised brass lines. It has a shaped bezel, with a high convex glass and fine hands. The 8 inch painted enamel dial is signed by the maker Montgomery of Belfast. It has a twin fusee movement with a pull quarter repeat on six bells, with an engraved backplate and original pendulum. Henry Montgomery is listed as a maker 1805-18
