Small Regency Bracket Clock
REF: 157075
A fine, very original, small proportioned Regency period rosewood bracket clock. It has a gadrooned chamfer top surmounted by a brass pineapple. The case has brass inlay with canted brass corners and brass side handles and brass ball feet. The 6 inch diameter convex dial has a brass bezel and convex glass. The dial is signed by the maker, Archibald Haswell of London. It has an 8 day timepiece fusee movement with a pendulum holdfast and glazed back door. An Archibald Haswell is listed as working 1839-1875, although this clock pre-dates this by approximately 10 years, so possibly the entry refers to the makers son.
