Rosewood and Inlay Mantel Clock

A good quality French mantel clock.The rosewood case has a swept arch top with boxwood and satinwood marquetry inlay. It has a fine cast embossed bezel and inner sight ring with a bevel edge glass and an enamel dial. The 8 day movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong and was made by Richard of Rue de Bondy, Paris, who had a retail branch at Cannon Street, London, probably where this clock originated from.
