Regency Mahogany and Brass Inlay Bracket Clock

A nicely proportioned and very original Regency period mahogany bracket clock. It has an arch top, and a front panel inlaid with acanthus style brass inlay and substantial brass ball feet. The sides have brass fishscale frets and embossed brass carrying handles. The 8 inch diameter dial has a cast brass bezel and is signed by the maker Loof of Tunbridge well. It has a twin fusee movement that sounds the hours on a bell. Willaim Loof is listed as a maker in the early 19th Century, 1822-1855.
