A substantial English solid oak cased timepiece mantel clock. The rectangular case has a flat top, inset geometric panels and brass bun feet. It has an engraved convex silvered dial, signed by the original retailer Biggs of Maidenhead with a cast brass bezel and convex glass. The substantial 8 day timepiece (does not strike or chime) chain driven fusee movement was made by Gillet & Johnston (bears their logo) and is numbered 14270.
