French Oak and Ebonised Mantel Clock

A mid 19th Century French oak bell striking mantel clock, in the style of a table regulator clock. The case has a fluted arch top with alternate oak and ebonised sections. Below it has a clear, fine enamel dial with a bevel edge glass and moon hands and a long pendulum viewing window. the pendulum is an enamel gridiron regulator pendulum. The 8 day movement strikes the hours an halves on a bell and was made by Japy Frere and has their 1853 medal stamp.
