French Boullework Mantel Clock

An ornate Louis XVth style mantel clock, dating to the late 19th Century. It has a waisted case with a Boullework case comprising of a ground of stained red tortoiseshell, and fine engraved brass inlay with applied gilt ormolu decoration. It has a cream enamel dial with black numerals and an 8 day striking movement, made by Marti & Co of Paris. It sounds the hours and halves on a gong.
