Burr Walnut Drumhead Mantel Clock

A superb figured burr walnut drum-head mantel clock dating to the Victorian period. It has a circular drum top and a scroll base and a thick bevel edge glass front and back door. The 8 day movement has a visible escapement that swings in time with the pendulum, and it strikes the hours and halves on a bell,made by Japy Frere and retailed by the well known Paris maker Henri Marc.
