French Tortoiseshell and Brass Inlay Bell Striking Mantel Clock

A good sized French bell striking mantel clock, that was originally made for the British market. It has a waisted shape case, having tortoiseshell inlaid with brass and embossed brass applied decoration. The enamel dial has hand painted floral decoration and has a fine embossed bezel and sight ring. It has an 8 day, hour and half hour bell striking movement, stamped by the maker Japy Frere.
